Swing

Smart playground sensory swing

So socials served me a heap of ads telling me how important swings are for child development-everything from gross motor skills and muscle development to confidence and sensory processing. And having some very sensory seeking and energetic children I obviously decided a swing was essential. And living in the north East of Scotland it would have to be inside because, yanno, weather. So after a bit of googling I found this bad boy that said it could be screwed straight into the ceiling and was machine washable-what could be better!?

So when I presented it to my husband as our birthday gift for the one year old he said he absolutely was not screwing it into the ceiling and pulling all the plasterboard down. I helpfully suggested he screw it through into a joist and he kindly informed me we have a big steel in the loft. Enter grandad - he’s a joiner and notorious for not leaving any problem unsolved. So, a couple of weeks later after the my husband and his father spending a very enjoyable afternoon crawling around the loft and putting a few random holes in the ceiling it was finally installed and the kids went wild!! They love it - its used every day and they squabble over who’s turn it is. Yes, I do have to remind them to keep a clear area around it but they absolutely cannot stay off it. Our eldest, who is the gentlest and most cautious has now even learned to use it like an ariel silk and go upside down. And when they argue too much it can be unclipped and stuck in the top of the wardrobe for a break. 5 stars - massive recommendation (if you can install it safely!)
